We have negotiated hundreds of collective bargaining agreements with NYSUT, CSEA, the IBEW, the Transit Workers Union, the Teamsters, and other labor unions. We have negotiated with bargaining units that ranged in size from less than 10 to over 3000 employees.
While our goal is to resolve personnel matters at the earliest possible stage, we have the experience and ability to litigate in every potential venue. We have defended several hundred arbitrations and mediations and have appeared numerous times before the Public Employment Relations Board on matters of unit determination and improper practices.
The firm keeps up-to-date on developments in civil rights litigation, such as sexual harassment, age discrimination, and ADA accommodations. Our attorneys have represented school
districts before the New York State Division of Human Rights, the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission, the New York State Supreme Court, United States District Courts, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
Our firm’s library includes all of the decisions of the Public Employment Relations Board and the New York State Commissioner of Education. We maintain various texts and treatises on Section 1983 litigation, ADA Guidelines, Public Employee Discharge and Discipline, and Employment Discrimination, in order to respond to your questions quickly and accurately.
